To paraphrase someone on a social media site ---
Notwithstanding the good work of the Lotds over the 'bedroom tax'
-- on Tuesday 13th December 2011 peers in the House of Lords voted through the decision to cut disability benefits for children.
It was a close vote but now disabled children will see their benefits cut in half.
This is happening because Iain Duncan Smith and his ilk had a fabulous plan to reform our benefit system.
He has a vision to encourage us all to go to work, in low paid, unskilled jobs no doubt, whether it’s viable, possible or practical, he doesn’t care.
He and other small minded, small hearted and/or compassionless creatures may 'spin 'it as ‘nudging’,
-- others call it punishment for being unemployed, disabled, old or, god forbid, a single parent and it supplements the already harsh punishments that some social housing renters are already subjected to.
