Good idea Jon - it was obnoxious to see a Labour front bench in government extolling the virtues of debt and devising policy on the presumption that every one would own their own home. Clearly there is a need for an appropriate supply of rented housing, and the only way to ensure it is affordable to the man in the street is for the State to make sure the rent is pegged at social levels.
Will we see the Labour policy for the mass expanision of socially rented housing, the regulation of private rented housing to ensure social purpose is served and not just commercial interest, the removal of the personalisation of debt as a means to progress? Well Jon?
And will we see an end to the disgusting spectacle of Labour spokespersons jumping on the demonisers bandwaggon against the poor, the vulnerable, and those who rent their homes?
