Interesting piece Jane. What we have seen for years is a tinkering around the edges and wholesale failure to recognise that the system needs more than sticking plasters to fix. Disheartening too to see that more than 20 years since community care and joined up working we are still stuck in our silos while people who aren't interested which box we sit in, wait for the seamless services promised.
My background is care regulation and whilst I was aware of dialogue and good intentions to share across health and social care boundaries, I have not seen anything similar with housing providers, commissioners or regulators.
I agree Jane, that a steer needs to come from the top and that the health and wellbeing boards will at least provide a platform for some of those inextricable links between services to be explored for the benefit of our end users.
