Unfortunately I have seen much demonisation of the needy, vulnerable, the long term sick, etc. over the weekend Gavin -- and I regret that you find it ‘tiresome’.
I also saw the demonisation of private landlords as the cause of the high rents charged.
Your ‘tiresome’ is my ‘despicable and bullying’ -- a matter of opinion and obviously not one we share (not for the first time and probably not for the last). Being one of the demonised (again), may well have an outcome on my (or another’s) point of view as is human nature.
If I find posts or posters tiresome then I simply ignore them … never ignored yours I am glad to say.
Demonisation is a form of bullying because of the fact that it is those whom are different or express a different point of view are targeted -- in the case of ‘caps’ it is the children who will suffer as the Children’s’ Society point out (as they would).
To pick on those least able to defend themselves is cowardly and really is bullying. I found myself remembering two words from history this weekend … “Heil” and “Zeig” and remembered the demonisation (or stigmatisation , if people prefer) and bullying that drove people from their homes then.
Apart from that little rant -- thank you once again by the way, Gavin, for providing me with the opportunity (as you often do, sometimes accidentally, I suspect) to continue to express my views and expand on them -- I shall return shortly (things to do) for further catch-ups with you here and elsewhere.
