St Alban - such condescending, patronising claptrap is not worthy of a response and it is certainly not worthy of being tagged to your namesake.
Jono - you have the nerve to criticise MY logic, then use the then-virgin territories of North America and the Falklands as rhetorical equivalents to the present-day UK?
Do you regard the UK as a virgin territory that is open to being colonised by immigrants without the existing residents having any say in the matter?
What ******* planet are you living on?
You say "I am not demonstrating a total lack of comprehension of the real world" ... no indeed, you seem to be demonstrating a total lack of comprehension of the entire physical universe. You seem to be floating in a fantasy universe of your own construction that bears no useful similarity to the real one.
What on earth do you mean by "Similarly, the abolition of a planning system which forcefully removes people from their own land, people who have not been found guilty of any crime, will be seen by future generations as a step forward."???
What abolition of what planning system are you talking about? The planning system that is legally in force at present does not "forcefully remove people from their own land", it forcefully removes illegally constructed dwellings from land that should not have been used for that purpose. The Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (Section 102 (1)) is the legal basis for action against unlawfully constructed dwellings.
If you believe that anyone who buys a piece of land should be allowed to do whatever the heck he wants to do with it, to the extent of having complete disregard for everyone else around him, and without any consideration for the law or the environment, you are a total nutcase. That is the route towards anarchy and utter mayhem.
