How galling that universally economic experts are now calling for the same action that IH commentators have been calling for for years.
But these highly paid do-nothings should not be easily let off of the hook. When Osborne was oousing his way into Number 11 they were applauding his proposals, relishing the public sector pain, and welcoming the cuts in social investment. Likewise the 'leading businessmen' were flocking to the media to be seen to endorse the New Tory Cuts.
Now, with their hindsight fully engaged by the complete failure of the Tory policy the 'experts', the CBI, and the media endorsed they pontificate the solutions the sector has been calling for.
Well my message to these experts is: show some credibility and at least admit to the massive error of judgement and understanding. After all, their expert views did have influence, and as such ensured that viable alternatives were not considered.
Now we have the worst recession since Heath/Wilson. Do not forget that the solution to that mess was Thatcherism - which led to where we are now.
