Ok lets get some balance to this.
Everyone is absoultely right that this should not have happened and it is both a worrying and seriou breach of data protection. It is important that Islingotn check their systems and processes to make sure it does not happen again. They have also quite rightyl put in extra steps to support people and said sorry
All these calls for people to lose their jobs/heads because of a human error is ridiculous. It is probably an administrative error so lets sack the office admin! Those saying that you only work for a council if you are incompetent is just offensive.
I ask everyone who agree with this if they have ever rung the wrong number, posted a letter without a stamp, sent a text to the wrong person etc etc. Whilst I am not implying this is as serious as what happened here the principle remains the same.
What I would have liked Islington tohave done is stated what they are doing in terms of the procuedres to make sure it doesn't happen again.
