Gavin, I think it's reasonable to expect that IDS knew what his spokesman was saying. So there is nothing outrageous in my saying the spokesman's words were IDS's explanation.
As I said in my first comment, it does seem very strange that L&Q appear to be building 274 out of 294 homes for the open market, and as a layman without knowledge of this particular scheme, I want to understand why that is - and if it's justifiable.
I would also think it's fair to ask that a member of the Government, even when acting as a constituency MP, acknowledges that any affordable housing developer now has to work in a landscape which has been radically altered by his own dept and that of Messrs Shapps and Pickles. Is that too much to ask?
