James, in many cases it's not about folk not being prepared to do the work someone else will, it's about just getting an interview. This is the worst job market I've known in my life time. It's very easy to take the fictional view that people are spongers and just can't be bothered but from my experience on the ground that's very far from the truth. I hope you don't find yourself unemployed but if you do your see'll the stark reality.
The work programme is not delivering, the third sector weren't "asked" to deliver the programme, they held their hands up and offered to do it as in it's time it's been a money-maker.....not in a recession with no growth.
