Haha chris i love the idea, and what a'utopia' that would be. Maybe..
Dissent just isn't the done things these days, woe betide anyone to consider such an idea.. Self Sustainable Co-Operative Communities? Never!
Though I agree in many ways it may be the only way to 'cure' the rife poverty that exists in the UK, by 2020 25% under the poverty line?
Thing is without capilaist values a small country like the UK in the global market would soon become a 3rd world power. Especially as our wealthy jump ship. We can't even talk about true sustainability, no there HAS TO BE GROWTH yet were reminded every day the planets resources just can't cope. Were mining it dry for the needs of the current rich with little regard for the poor or the future.
I digress however, we all know that we can never fix this while politics works the way it does, Lord Freud is a testament to that. Bedroom tax is just a slap in the face for the helpless poor and to see it otherwise shows an inherent inability to conceptualise its effects. Sad in these modern, 'information rich' and 'socially responsible' times. Big society?
