This is the consequence of excessive ego being allowed to exist in a centralist government that believed it had the right to ignore the law. Government is the law maker and should never be the law breaker - as soon as government ignores the law it corrupts society.
In this instance, as soon as government recognised it had broken the law, instead of wasting £Millions of our money trying to excuse itself it should have immediately corrected the position, and compensated those who had lost out. That would have been a more cost effective solution to the mess government created.
Then, and only then, they could have addressed the issues, working with industry rather than against it.
If government wishes to control the power industry then perhaps they should not have put it into private hands where profit is raised above national interest!
How is it that no government Minister has yet to be awarded the credit for this mess? Are they waiting to blame it on the sector workers or something!
