Hi Colemankim14, unless the outstanding kitchen repair constitute a category one risk under the Housing Health and Safety Risk System it will be pointless trying to involve Environmental Health.  And if the outstanding repairs does qualify as category one risk at most all environmental health can do is issue an abatement order which will be valid untill the tenancy expires.

Sadly Jamal as a private rented sector tenant there is not advice to offer your apart form to get in contact with your Local Citizens Advise Bureau or nearest Shelter Branch

Well Stevie, the problem here is that the symptomns of damp and condensation is identical and some times exacerbated by the fact that in some cases strucutural damp creates perfect conditions for condensation to excell in.  So for the untrained eye distinguishing between the two is impossible most of the times.  Excessive condensation can in many case still by classified as a building defect if the right preventative measure have not been taken when carrying out improvements to a building.  However life style choices does also play a big role in excessive moisture in homes

H all, I am currently doing some research on two the main repair headaches for landlords and tenant alike - Damp vs Condensation.

I trying to obtain statisctical information on the following subjects:

How many cases  condensation are reported annually in the UK?

How many properties are affected by condensation in the UK?

Would anyone know where I would be able to obtaint or request this information from?
