government does not consult and if they do it is a one way street.  Audit Commission is simply not replaceable.

Private audit may be better though as one can have them in their pocket..

My advice is instead of name calling and get them in a twist do things positively:

1 - Build up your knowledge about housing, specifically, the housing Acts, you need to know more in order to find out more.  You landlord responsibilities are clearly defined by law and if your demands are outside this you are wasting your time and everybody eleses

2- No providers make promises without an action plan.   Ask for an update.  If these are verball promises they are as good as none

3- Relax and organise yourslf and try to make your points towards official channels, Remember no shouting, no abuse, name calling, etc. They can easily lable you as a difficult tenant trouble maker, etc

4- You can not clap with one hand, investigate what other tenants saying, collect signatures if necessary and whatever you do try to be organised.  Once you are organised calm and professional you can get your points across otherwise again you waste your time
