2008 Sustainable Housing Awards

2008 Sustainable Housing AwardsWelcome to the first awards scheme dedicated to shining the spotlight on the best in sustainable social housing.

Sustainability is one of the most pressing issues affecting the housing sector. Britain’s homes are responsible for a significant proportion of the UK’s carbon emissions - which is why all new homes will have to meet tough new "zero carbon" standards by 2016.

The 2008 Sustainable Housing Awards will celebrate those projects and organisations at the vanguard of housing sustainability best practice. Involvement in the Awards as a Winner – or a Finalist – will bring widespread recognition, masses of media exposure and could lead to further work or commissions. It costs nothing to enter.

There are 14 trophies up for grabs, recognising the best housing projects, the top social housing landlords and a host of other categories. Download the entry form here to read all about the categories and the judging criteria.

The awards will be presented at a special "green" awards ceremony in London’s Hilton Hotel on 11 November 2008.

The deadline for entering is Friday 27th June 2008. Our two expert judging panels are currently being assembled and full details of them will be revealed on the website shortly.

We expect the awards will attract hundreds of senior industry figureheads – including representatives of Government departments, chief executives of all the leading social housing providers and representatives of the main trade and professional bodies.
