The six-part series profiling the work of Greater Manchester landlords City West Housing Trust and New Charter Homes begins at 10.35pm on Thursday on BBC One.
The programme will look at some of the topical issues facing social landlords and tenants, including overcrowding, under-occupation, and hoarding.
Tony Powell, executive director of neighbourhoods at New Charter, said: ‘There are significant pressures on social housing now, and plenty of changes to come.
‘So it’s more important than ever the public understand what good housing providers are doing and what they can add to neighbourhoods.’
David Cummins, director of communities and neighbourhoods at City West, said: ‘We participated in the programme to highlight some of the challenges and opportunities that there are in social housing today. I hope viewers will be informed as well as entertained.’
