Thanks. I was about to post something asking for views, but you beat me to it. The idea is to display content more effectively, so I'd be interested to hear whether people feel it works or not. We'll be rolling out some of these new elements to other areas of the site over the next few weeks, and could also make further changes to the home page, so let me know what you think.

It seems OK but I think once we've got used to it we'll have a higher opinion.

Oh, and thanks for asking.

A caption competition could be fun

For instance, on today's front page with Cameron pan faced next to a Shapps in full view:

'he just never shuts up, endless pointless meaningless drivel. God he's so embarrassing, but here I sit having to hear it spill out knowing that I'm then going to have to stand up and agree with it all. Why did I ever want this job. And, he's still not shut up. I must have words with Eric!'

Methinx that the 'censoring' department of IH could be needing extra staff if there was a caption competition -- however, you never know?  1st prize could be a day in the company of the Eric, 2nd prize being 2 days, 3rd being 3 days.

Clearer - crisper and easier to locate the latest stories.

How about putting the forums on a scoller like the other opinion area?

I look forward to the innovations across the other pages, although I can't imagine what they may be.

Good work team at IH - new format is a winner.

I'm not keen on it. Seems to be just more gaps between articles to me and less articles visible at that (IMHO). F451.What is the side-scroll thing you refer to? I cannot see this?

the little red arrows either side of 'Blogs and Opinion' Melvin that turns the selection into a rolling observable selelction rather than as before where you had to leave the home page to see what was currently being posted.

No doubt yeast by products are fitting for a super-hero, for myself I prefer far more traditional English Fayre like pottage which I'm quite skilled at making - a skill I learned whilst living in a field in Suffolk of all things.

I'm leaning towards you Melvin on the overspacing as it would be nice to see more of the page in one view without minimising the screen too far.

Still more pro than anti though - perhaps the inner page modifications will be amazing!

It appears that the IH crew had new photo's taken for the new look front page. Yet, only Tom seems to have dramatically changed in appearance since the last photo shoot.

Is it the same Tom, or has he really changed that much?

Was it the pressure of being the on site agony aunt, or the worry of buying a round last year?

I'm missing the forums being on the top half of the front page.

They seem to be hidden in a bottom corner at the moment.

Any chance you could bump them up a bit?

Could comment boxes be made any larger, so that eye-scan reviewing is simpler (essential for rushed numbskulls who can't spell) or failing that a preview option prior to posting to assist sending in those posts with glaring errors, or even missing parts?

The Newspapers that have gone down this line I now refuse to view. In part, these are publications that I would not have wished to pay money to, but when particular items of interest were highlighted would have accessed the views and details available that way.

Thanks but no thanks Tenantplus - I am not a victim or a fool and do not believe the worse of everyone or generalise tarring all with the brush of a very, very few and so do not feel that you would change things for the better for the likes of me or would be representative the likes of me.  I feel it would deteriorate into an oppositional and ineffective relationship with my landlord and employer (separate organisations) if the likes of me were represented by attitudes such as yours - although I am speaking more as a tenant ...

The targeting of grant supported purchasing for key workers, like right to buy, was a poor use of taxpayers money in that no new asset was created, but worse the market activity it caused added to the artificial inflation of house prices across the board.

Interesting link to a snippet of opinion - but more interesting, is that house pictured a current socially rented home - is so it looks just like the sort of housing Shapps wants to stamp out - or at least restrict to only the most select residents.
