Comment on: Illegal sub-letting will be hard to prove
Well, A2Dominion must be jumping for joy!
But I suspect that half of their Tenant's (or sub Tenant's) are sub letting anyway. -
Comment on: The fight against fraud
Housing Associations are complacent regarding the issue of Sub-letting, but I am sure if it were Squatters they might just try a do something.
Incidently here's something Housing Associations need to think about regarding (illegal) sub-letting. The 2012 Olympics are fast approaching, so what if a terrorist attack against members of the public were being plotted in these sub-let properties? How would these terrorists ever be traced?
Houisng Associations do not who any of their Tenant's are anymore, partly as a result of killing off Tenant's Associations, (Aided and abetted by TPAS).
Well, I suppose being a housing association the office party is far more important anyway. -

Comment on: Court sets high bar for eviction
Well, well, well. About time Housing Associations had their Machiavellian power crushed.
Although I am no believer in this countries system of "justice", I am a believer that rogue social housing landlords have enjoyed far too much power increasingly over the past ten years.
It has been far too easy for corrupt housing associations to use the "balance of probability" nonsense to evict or to terrorise Tenant's simply because they think they can suppress Tenant's comments about their corrupt housing practices.
Several years ago Dominion Housing Group maliciously served a NSP on my Wife and I . When we sought legal advice to challenge their behaviour and that of their inept housing Manager. But we were prevented from pursuing it in the courts thanks to the moronic Community Legal Service who did not allow legal aid, (despite us having a very strong case against Dominion Housing Group).
So, I hope this legal precedent will thwart malicious and unfounded NSP, and prevents housing associations from serving NSP on Tenant's without hard evidence. In particular such as Dominion Housing Group who are incapable of acting impartially regarding "neighbour disputes". They are guilty of using Notice Seeking Possession orders as a means of harassing Tenant's out off their home.
Yes, THAT MEANS YOU DOMINION HOUSING GROUP! -
Comment on: Legal aid cull prompts fears
What about if you are falsely accused of a crime which you have not committed, and you are deprived of access to legal advice and subsequently (so called) legal aid?
Unscrupulous housing association's are loving the power they have over their Tenant's whom they can terrorise, harass and bully out off their homes, with absolutely no fear of the Tenant receiving any legal protection, (I should know as have experienced this at first hand).
In this country once you are labelled you are as good as dead.
Some people on this forum should experience injustice for themselves before making indefensible crass comments.

I have left 4 seperate messages with the switch-board for him to contact me, all to no avail. -

Are there any differences between the terms Housing Officer and Neighbourhood Officer?
The older term "Housing Officer" appeared specific and personal, whereas the newer term
"Neighbourhood Officer" appears as non-specific ambiguous and impersonal.
For instance where does the "neighbourhood" begin and end?
We all know what "housing" is and can identify and relate this whether we rent or pay a mortgage.
Or is it merely Sociological and cosmetic? -

I would like to suggest that IH consider banning those Poster's who hide behind their prejudiced and offensive comments by being "Anonymous".
They are nothing but "Trolls" malicious and vacuous.
Their comments contribute nothing of any value to any debate.
Many Tenants who ask for help or advice on the IH Forum do so as they are at their lowest ebb, desperate for some constructive comments.
But there are those twisted, spiteful individuals who enjoy peversely to gloat at someone elses problems. I believe it is called shadefreude .
The Web is resplendent with Forums of all kinds, and of course these are patrolled by these parasites who are too cowrdly to identify themselves.
Therefore, why should IH allow Anonymous posters? What have they to fear from identifying themselves

Well, it's so good to see rationality still exists within social housing.
I suspect many of the "Anonymous" posters to my question are merely mindless trolls who despise social housing tenants anyway.
Some comments were quite helpful and constructive, and I thank you for your intelligent thoughtful comments.
But, as for suggesting I put my self in the housing officers shoes, yes gladly, give me his/her salary then I will empathise but not before.
If you can not do the job don't take it out on your customers (tenant's).
Finally, what makes you think I am an A2 Dominion tenant?
Why is it my neighbour has a "hot line" to our housing officer and not us?
More the case of Preferential treatment, deserving versus undeserving!

This relates to my recent post regarding "How Long Should it Take a Housing Officer to Phone".
Well, since then I have discovered that my Landlord is actively involved in discrimination against us.
They have taken side in a neighbour dispute, and I am angered and appalled.
Earlier this year we saw the housing Manager and housing officer with our Solicitor, (and they had a solicitor too but did not mention one would be present a the meeting).
At this meeting the Housing manager excalimed that they would not carry on with their persecution of us and would "draw a line" and treat us fairly. (Seems those were empty words).
My question is this, is a landlord allowed to take side in a dispute, and discriminate against their Tenant's?
What protection does a Tenant have against such tyranny?
I would be garetful for any advice
Kindest of Regards
Roger P Murphy
