ASB statistics can be made consistent
In your ‘Ask the experts’ section (Inside Housing, 10 July), your anti-social behaviour expert, Angus Macdonald, suggests that the performance measure the questioner was collecting (the number of live ASB cases per 1,000 properties) would be unlikely to be collected by other landlords to the same criteria.
On the contrary - the suggested measure, developed with our subscribers, is taken from Housemark’s suite of ASB benchmarking activity measures, which 174 organisations collect and enter data for on to our online, live benchmarking system on a quarterly basis.
For the year 2008/09, a total of 161 organisations collected and submitted results on this measure. A report analysing the results of last year’s overall data collection and benchmarking exercise was published last week and is available online.
