From November there will be a number of changes to @insidehousing’s content offering. @martinhilditch reveals more about a big month for the publication #UKhousing

Over the past few weeks, you may have noticed trailers popping up on social media and in Inside Housing mentioning that change is coming.

Well, change is almost upon us. It’s an exciting moment (albeit nerve-wracking as, at the time of writing, we’re still adding the final coats of paint).

From next month, Inside Housing will be introducing a number of new features for readers, including a more responsive and in-depth news service, video interviews with some of the sector’s most influential figures and interesting thinkers, and a redesigned website that is easier to navigate.

We’ll also be introducing a new bumper, monthly print edition that will be packed full of analysis, investigations, discussion and ideas. The magazine will deliver all the knowledge you need to keep you up to date and on top of developments in your part of the housing world.

I’m delighted to say that the move will enable us to become a greener read, too.

The magazine will be delivered in more sustainable packaging – something a number of readers have been calling for since I took over as editor last year. I’m really pleased to deliver on something that we have been scoping out since then.

And you’ll still be able to get the key takeaways from all the main stories every seven days, with our new online updates: ‘The Week in Housing’.

The new IH Live section of the website will contain a variety of video and audio content, including head-to-head interviews, alongside our existing podcast and a range of webinars and round tables. The leadership head-to-heads will enable subscribers to be part of the interview process for the first time, so you can get the answers that are most useful to you and your organisation.

Hopefully this new, more collaborative approach will build on some of the work we have already started this year with the setting-up of our race and housing editorial panel – you’ll be seeing much more content driven by that panel over the coming months, too.

The new-look Inside Housing website will go live on 23 November, the same date that the first monthly edition will land on your doorstep. In the meantime there will be all the usual news, features, comment and analysis at www.insidehousing.co.uk.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what you all make of the new look and new features. See you all next month.
