Dave started his working life as a social worker and somehow ended up in charge of housing and neighbourhoods services at Hull City Council. He is determined to change and improve services for the benefit of local residents and is in the midst of a major transformation programme which has seen Hull City Council named as the Strategic Housing Authority at the UKHA 2018 and win a host of other awards, the most relevant being that Hull is the first organisation in the country to achieve Exemplar Accreditation with TPAS. Dave believes Hull has a long way to go to meet their ambitions, but by co-working with tenants and stakeholders, Hull has the potential to be a truly excellent housing service.
Outside of work, he is a very slow cyclist and lone wild camper. On a weekend morning Dave can be found shouting at his son and other 17 year olds, supposedly coaching them on how to play football; a subject they know far more about than he does.
