The company announced the deal today that will see it work alongside Ealing to deliver the 470-home Perceval House at the site of the council’s current headquarters.

The agreement will ensure 50% of all the homes built on the site are affordable and will also include a new council headquarters for the council as well as library and retail premises.

Galliford Try was initially signed up as preferred development partner for the scheme back in 2017, but the deal has only just been officially signed this year, with work expected to start on the site next year.

The announcement came as part of a trading update by Galliford Try that also confirmed the completion of the company’s problematic Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route scheme in Aberdeen.

The 58km road, which Galliford Try was delivering alongside Balfour Beatty and Carillion before its collapse, has been heavily delayed and has so far contributed to losses over £100m at the company.

The news comes the week after Galliford Try posted its half-year results, which saw the Partnerships and Regeneration arm increase its turnover from 27% to £284.9m for the six months to 31 December 2018.

The business also saw operating increase to £14.5m for the period, up from £10.8m for the first half of 2017/18.

Commenting on the Ealing deal, Peter Truscott, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “We are also delighted to be partnering with Ealing Borough Council in the exciting project at Perceval House.

“Our partnerships business continues to build a strong track record in major regeneration schemes within the capital and we look forward to delivering high-quality homes and facilities for the council and the people of the borough."
