Clarion Housing Group has recruited a former HR director at car manufacturer Ford to its board.
Doris Olulode joined the group’s board on Friday, as well as the board of its housing association and its remuneration and nominations committee.
Ms Olulode is currently a freelance HR consultant, having previously been Ford’s HR director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
She also led the African Ancestry Network at the motor giant and was once named by Autocar as one of the 100 most influential women in the automobile industry.
“I’m so pleased to be joining Clarion as a board member at a time when the home has never felt so important,” Ms Olulode said.
“Clarion has been providing vital support to its customers and its communities throughout the pandemic and I’m pleased to be part of an organisation that can play such an integral role to recovery.”
She also serves as a non-executive director for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, as well as being a lay member at the HM Courts and Tribunals Service.
Clarion is the UK’s largest housing association with a stock of around 125,000 homes.
Among the landlord’s other board members are former housing minister Lord Barwell and David Orr, former chief executive of the National Housing Federation.
David Avery, group chair of Clarion, said: “Clarion is delighted to welcome Doris to the boards.
“I have no doubt we will benefit from her wealth of experience as we navigate through these unchartered times and continue to deliver on our mission to provide good-quality, affordable homes and neighbourhoods to those inadequately served by the market.”
