Housing association acquires construction firm to build affordable housing schemes and homes for sale #ukhousing

Thirteen Homes, the housing development arm of housing association Thirteen Group, acquired 100% of the Hartlepool-based Gus Robinson Developments for an undisclosed amount.

Currently Thirteen Homes develops houses for outright sale, and Thirteen Group reinvests the profits into social housing delivery.

Gus Robinson, which predicts revenue for the current year in the region of £25m, will deliver affordable housing schemes and specialist housing projects in addition to properties for outright sale.

As one of the largest housing associations in the North East, Thirteen Group currently owns just under 34,000 homes in an area covering Northumberland to York.

Gus Robinson will continue working with existing and new clients including housing associations and local authorities.

Ian Wardle, chief executive of Thirteen Group, said: “As one of our long-standing construction partners, we have always been impressed with the quality of homes delivered by Gus Robinson Developments and we are convinced that as part of Thirteen the company will flourish further and play a more significant role in the development of the North of England’s housing requirements for us and other organisations that need construction and building services.”

Dan Robinson, owner of Gus Robinson Developments, said: “It was always at the forefront of our minds when we entered this process that we sold the business to an organisation that embodied similar values to those that have underpinned Gus Robinson Developments throughout the company’s incredible journey. In Thirteen Group, I am delighted to say we have found that organisation.”
