Notting Hill Genesis chair steps down
The chair of Notting Hill Genesis has stepped down less than a year after the merger which created the 64,000-home housing association was completed.
Dipesh Shah revealed in a statement he would be leaving his post exactly two years after being named Genesis chair.
Mr Shah said he informed the board of his desire to leave last month, eight months after the merger between Genesis and Notting Hill was officially completed in April last year.
The search for a successor is underway and his replacement is expected to be named next month.
The chair is the second high-profile figure to leave the organisation in the past three months after deputy chief executive Elizabeth Froude, also formerly of Genesis, confirmed in November she would be leaving the organisation.

Mr Shah was named Genesis chair in January 2017 and appointed as chair designate of Notting Hill Genesis in July 2017 before the merger was completed in April 2018.
Before joining as chair he was chief executive of the UK Atomic Energy Authority. He also had a 30-year career with BP, as well as a period as chair of energy company Viridian.
Mr Shah said: “It has been a privilege over the past two years to be the chair of Genesis Housing Association and Notting Hill Genesis at a formative stage where we initiated and completed the merger early last year.
“As a result, the organisation is more resilient and I am particularly pleased with progress on giving effect to the promises we made to residents at the time of the merger.”
