Housing association moves in October

Housing association moves in October
  • Tabitha Kassem (above) has been promoted to become executive director of governance at Network Homes. She was previously director of governance, compliance and marketing at the association. Meanwhile, Network Homes has also confirmed the appointment of Peter Benz as permanent executive director of finance.
  • Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing Group has appointed Helen Rourke as executive director of finance. Ms Rourke was previously director of finance and company secretary at Bradford-based Manningham Housing Association.
  • Weaver Vale Housing Trust has named Paul Smith as its new chair. Mr Smith, who also chairs the National Housing Federation board members’ forum, was previously chair of Prima Housing.
  • Julian Pearce has joined BPHA as chief financial officer. He previously held the same role at NHS Property Services and headed up consultancy KPMG’s financial sector transaction services business.
Housing association moves II (October)
  • Cathy McCarthy has been appointed as housing director at West Kent Housing Association, replacing Deborah White, who retires this month. Ms McCarthy joins from Centrepoint, where she was national head of housing. She was previously a director at Southern Housing.
  • Paradigm Housing has appointed Sarah Nickson as director of strategy and business services, with responsibility for policy and strategy, HR, learning and development, legal, governance, communications, health and safety, and facilities. She was previously head of people management.
  • Housing Plus Group has made several senior appointments, following its merger with Stafford and Rural Homes. Alison Hadden has been named chair of the newly merged organisation, while Sarah Boden (above) is chief executive and Gareth Evans is senior independent director.
  • Brunelcare has named Mandy Collins as its head of corporate governance. The company has also appointed Laura Oliver as centre manager at its Waverley Gardens extra care site, while Kinlay Burns has been made deputy manager at Robinson House Care Home.

  • The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has named Dame Janet Paraskeva as chair of its new standards and regulation board. Dame Janet is a former chief executive of the Law Society.
  • Sue Harris has been appointed as a non-executive director at Wates Group.
  • The Building Research Establishment (BRE) has appointed Piers White MBE (above) as its new chair. Mr White, a former non-executive director at Hyde Housing, will commence his role at the end of November.
  • Housing and regeneration consultancy Red Loft has appointed Chris Cheeseman as partner. Mr Cheeseman joins from Clarion, where he was head of new business (south).
