Housing association moves
  • Heidi Thompson (pictured) has been appointed executive director of homes and investment at First Choice Homes Oldham. She was previously executive director of property at Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing.
  • Nina Evison has been appointed head of people at Yorkshire Housing, having previously been director of people at Catalyst Housing. She started on 2 September.
  • Geraldine Kay took up the role of chair of Byker Community Trust (BCT) last month, having previously been chief executive of Derwentside Homes until her retirement in 2017. She replaces Jim Coulter, former chief executive of the National Housing Federation, who has retired as chair of BCT.

  • Marion Hall, (pictured) executive director of governance and company secretary at PA Housing, retired on 27 September. She has previously worked across the sector, including in senior roles at the Housing Corporation.
  • Manningham Housing Association has appointed Nas Hussain as community partnerships and investment manager. He was previously funding manager at the Big Lottery Fund.
  • Greenfields Community Housing has appointed Tricia Clark as head of finance. Her previous role was head of finance at Suffolk Housing
  • Sanctuary Group has made two changes to its board, with Andrew Manning-Cox stepping up to replace Jonathan Lander as chair and Arvinda Gohil joining as a non-executive board member on 25 September. Mr Manning-Cox was formerly a board member at the group and is a retired lawyer, having spent a long career at Gowling WLG. Ms Gohil is currently chief executive of Central YMCA.

  • Optivo appointed Joanne Stewart as executive director for people and Mark Compton-James as director of technology and transformation on 16 September. Ms Stewart was formerly group director of people at higher education technology firm Jisc and Mr Compton-James was previously head of IT and digital services at Southwark Council.

  • Ian Hill was appointed interim director of governance and compliance and company secretary at A2Dominion on 16 September. He was previously interim company secretary to several residential providers in East Anglia.

  • Simon Smith (pictured) has started work as an associate director at Savills Housing Consultancy. He was previously a freelance housing finance consultant, after a period at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s consultancy.
  • Judith Salomon has joined developer Pocket Living as head of strategic planning and communications. She was previously head of strategic planning at Berkeley Group.
  • Justin Cartwright has been appointed national director for Northern Ireland at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). He has previously been policy manager at the CIH, based in its Belfast office.
  • Susan Richardson has joined the EMA Consultancy team as a managing consultant. She was previously an executive director at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group.
  • Man Global Private Markets, the giant hedge fund that has recently entered the social housing sector, has announced the arrival of four new faces in its ‘community housing’ team. Ian Jackson and Tom Shaw have joined as investment directors. Mr Jackson was previously executive director of portfolio investment at Longhurst Group and Mr Shaw was managing director at Hyde. Paul Beardmore, former director of housing and residential growth at Manchester City Council, joined the fund’s advisory committee and Marine Guerin joined as investment associate, having previously worked at Venn Partners, which ran the Private Rented Sector Guarantee Scheme.
