#ScottishHousingDay aims to raise awareness of the latest developments in housing.

The theme of this year’s tweetathon is ‘young people’s housing options’ and aims to “get the message out about your housing options and dispelling myths”.

Housing staff tweeted about their achievements, hosted special events and posted pictures to raise awareness of issues affecting the sector.

The Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland hosted a hustings with politicians from across the political spectrum:

While Sanctuary Group held an event to discuss young people’s housing options - the theme of this year’s #ScottishHousingDay:

Housing advice charity Housing Options Scotland held Q&As to showcase housing options, including for young disabled people:

#ScottishHousingDay was also about you trumpeting your organisation’s achievements and plenty of social landlords did just that:

Inside Housing hosted a Q&A with Scottish Housing minister Kevin Stewart, who answered questions about Brexit, challenges for the sector, perceptions of social housing and the below on the Scottish government’s 50,000-home target:

Earlier, Jim Strang, president of the Chartered Institute of Housing, took the Twitter Q&A hot seat and rapidly answered lots of your questions, on topics including tackling domestic abuse, what England could learn from Scotland, Housing First, asylum seekers and social purpose.

His reponse to the question of how to increase awareness of social housing’s positives was a rallying call for the sector, and seconded by Sally Thomas of the SFHA:
