Nineteen families are being housed in Basingstoke temporary accommodation three months after they were forced out of their homes by flooding, a social landlord said today.
Sovereign Housing Association said of the 31 families it moved into alternative accommodation after the flooding in February, 12 have moved into a new home, six are waiting to move into the new homes which have been identified for them and 19 are in temporary accommodation. These families intend to return to their homes in Buckskin.
The landlord also said it is still searching for suitable accommodation for four families.
Sovereign has received help from local companies and voluntary groups, including Basingstoke Skip Hire and the Community Furniture Project, which have helped replace damaged possessions and furnish temporary homes.
