Halton Housing has appointed a new chief executive to replace previous boss Nick Atkin, who left the organisation last month.
Liz Haworth will be joining Halton as its new boss from nearby Liverpool landlord Torus, where she is chief operations and transformation officer with responsibility for customer-facing services.
She has worked at Torus for around four years, having spent the previous 12 years in various roles at Helena Partnerships.
Ingrid Fife, group board chair at Halton, said: “I’m delighted that Liz will be joining us to lead our talented team to take the organisation forward. Liz brings a wealth of experience in service transformation, people leadership and performance management from her roles within the financial sector, local government and housing organisations.”
Halton manages around 7,000 homes in Runcorn and Widnes and was established in 2005. It plans to build and acquire more than 1,000 homes in the next five years.
Ms Haworth said: “I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to lead Halton Housing, an organisation and team I admire. It’s exciting to be part of its plans to evolve its business further to provide excellent, modern customer service and a significant development programme.”
Mr Atkin announced in November that he had accepted a new role as chief executive of Yorkshire Housing and would be leaving Halton this year. He had worked for the organisation for more than 13 years.
Neil McGrath, who was deputy chief executive, is currently the interim boss until Ms Haworth takes up her post.
