Paul Tanney, chief executive at St Leger Homes, will retire at the end of June after three-and-a-half years in the role.

St Leger Homes was set up by Doncaster Council in 2005 and manages over 20,000 properties on behalf of the local authority.

Mr Tanney has worked in the housing sector for over 30 years, and is the former chief executive of East Durham Homes and Four Housing Group.

Late last year, St Ledger Homes had to undertake a major recovery programme for its residents after a number of its homes were affected by the devastating floods that hit Doncaster. At the time, Mr Tanney said that he had never experienced anything like the floods in his 37-year career.

Mr Tanney said: “It is a very difficult decision to leave, as I have enjoyed my time at St Leger Homes, making a positive difference for local tenants across Doncaster.

“I am leaving the organisation in a strong position – and I am very proud of what we have achieved together.

“There is a renewed focus now on the things that matter: delivering for our customers, improving performance, and ensuring compliance around health and safety. Whoever takes over will be inheriting a fantastic organisation.”

Dave Wilkinson, chair of St Leger Homes, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Paul for all he has done for St Leger Homes, residents and staff.

“Paul has been an excellent ambassador for St Leger Homes and Doncaster – and I wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
