Clarion gets green light for 125-home Brighton scheme
Work on a new 125-home affordable housing scheme in Brighton will get under way this summer after the project was given the green light by the local authority.
Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest social landlord, was granted full approval by Brighton & Hove City Council’s planning committee last week to build the development in Portslade, which will be “100% affordable”.
The scheme includes 28 homes for affordable rent and 97 homes for shared ownership. It will also involve nearby road improvement works.
Clarion has appointed Thakeham Client to build the development, which will be completed in early 2022.

The planning committee also granted permission for the council to convert its former housing office into 10 flats for people in need of temporary housing as a way of saving money on expensive placements.
