The search for the 10,000-home Peterborough landlord’s next chief executive has begun. Mr Leggett has been with the 10,000-home Peterborough landlord since its inception 10 years ago.

Angus Kennedy, Cross Keys Homes chair, said: ‘Mick is an exceptional leader, who has shaped Cross Keys Homes during his 10 years as CEO, as well as playing a leading role in the sector and across Peterborough. The board thank him for his outstanding achievements in making Cross Keys Homes what it is today. He leaves a lasting legacy, with the organisation in a very strong position financially, upper quartile performance levels and a strong reputation.’

Excellent standards

The landlord was formed to manage the stock transfer from Peterborough City Council and, during his time, Mr Leggett has helped bring all the homes up to the decent homes standard. The landlord has also built 1,000 new homes and recently established Cross Keys Care and the building of 79 apartments and a state of the art, extra care facility named Kingfisher Court.

‘This has been a hard decision to make. It has been a privilege to have led Cross Keys Homes during our first 10 years and I am incredibly proud of our achievements in that time,’ said Mr Leggett.

Mr Leggett started his working life as a travel agent in London before joining the housing sector 35 years ago. He gained experience in local authority housing in Essex before moving to housing associations in the early 1990s. He came to Peterborough in 2002.
