A procurement framework for suppliers of fire safety works in social housing has been announced.
Re:allies, a partnership between Procure Plus, Efficiency North and the Central Housing Investment Consortium, has named 51 companies for its new Fire Risk and Mitigation Framework.
This is one of the first such frameworks available nationally. It covers fire risk assessment, sprinkler installation and alarms.
It has an estimated total pipeline of demand of £163m over its four-year lifetime and was designed with the help of the Greater Manchester High Rise Taskforce, which was set up in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire to help deal with fire safety issues in the area.
The framework breaks down England and Wales into four regional lots.
It comes as social landlords commission an unprecedented amount of work on fire safety in the aftermath of the Grenfell disaster in June last year, which killed at least 71 people.
Paul Tennant, chair of the Re:allies Partnership, said: “This is a critically important matter for the housing industry and we have worked with the Greater Manchester High Rise Taskforce in its development and packaged the framework so that it is not subject to variations in pricing.”
