A former senior member of the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has been appointed chief executive of a company focused on rent-to-buy homes.
Steve Collins’ appointment as head of Rentplus UK was announced in a statement by the organisation yesterday.
He previously served as head of area for the East of England at the HCA, a non-departmental government body responsible for managing government funding programmes in England.
Previous chief executive Richard Connolly is retiring from Rentplus on 18 March next year.
Rentplus, which specifically develops rent-to-buy housing, aims to be in contract for 5,000 homes across England by 2020 and currently has a pipeline of 10,500 homes across the country.
John Gildersleeve, chair of Rentplus, said: “We are delighted to have secured Steve’s appointment. He will add value driving the business forward and ensure continued growth and delivery of Rentplus’ affordable rent-to-buy homes.”
