Galliford Try signs 850-home partnership with Homes England #ukhousing

The company’s partnerships arm, which works with housing associations and local authorities on regeneration projects, will build homes on sites in Redcar, Cheshire, Staffordshire and Dorset. The homes will be constructed as part of Homes England’s initiative to “build new housing at pace”, the organisation said.

Work will begin on the projects immediately with the first planning applications due to be submitted this month and the first homes expected to complete in spring 2020.

The projects will deliver a mixture of housing tenures including open market housing, affordable rent, shared ownership, private rented sector and an extra-care development.

Stephen Teagle, chief executive of Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “We are delighted with our extension of work in partnership with Homes England to accelerate the delivery of much-needed new homes in these regions.”

The value of the deal has yet to be disclosed.

Earlier this year, Galliford Try finalised a £275m development agreement with Ealing Council for a major affordable housing scheme in west London. The company will work alongside the local authority to deliver the 470-home Perceval House at the site of the council’s current headquarters.

The house builder’s latest annual figures showed it built 6,193 homes in the year ended June 2018, helping it to generate £143.7m in pre-tax profit on a revenue of £2.93bn.
