Revealed: the @HousingHeroes18 winners #ukhousing

The full list of @HousingHeroes18 winners has been announced this evening #ukhousing

The winners and the nine highly commended entrants include teams and individuals, drawn from Cornwall to Aberdeenshire and all points in-between, who are improving the lives of the people they work with and the communities and tenants under their care.

Now in its tenth year, the Housing Heroes awards - organised jointly by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) - celebrate the transformative passion and commitment of the sector’s unsung heroes.

The winners this year include Joan Goodwin, who took home the tenant lifetime contribution award in recognition of her years of commitment to improving the lives of her fellow Birmingham City Council tenants.

The central service team of the year award, meanwhile, went to the volunteering, apprenticeships and student placements team at homelessness charity St Mungo’s, which was recognised for its members work in generating extra resources for the charity by moving way from traditional approaches to volunteer recruitment.
