Housing association and council moves
  • Jo Armstrong (pictured above) has been appointed chair of Wheatley Group. She will replace Alastair MacNish, who is standing down after a six-year stint. Ms Armstrong is also a panel member of the Competition and Markets Authority, a member of the Water Industry Commission for Scotland, chair of Hub West Scotland and a member of the Institute of Directors Scotland Advisory Board.
  • Nick Apetroaie has been named chief executive of Habinteg Housing Association. He was previously director of care, education and safeguarding at the Royal National Institute of Blind People and was formerly chief executive of Viridian. He replaces Sheron Carter, who stood down in December.
  • Lynette Lees has been appointed chief executive of Clydebank Housing Association, replacing Sharon Keenan.
  • Yashar Turgut has been named chair of One Manchester. Mr Turgut is an entrepreneur and business owner with almost 20 years’ commitment to the social housing sector through board membership.
  • Alison Muir has been named chair of HFL Homes, the registered provider arm of Lambeth Council’s ALMO Homes for Lambeth. She replaces Richard Stevens. Ms Muir has held several roles in the housing sector, including director of resident services at Peabody.
  • Rose Bean has been appointed executive director of assets and sustainability at Abri. She was previously director of asset management and regeneration at the organisation.
  • Rajan Sharma has been named director of finance at Futures Housing Group. He is currently the organisation’s senior finance business partner, and will start his new role on 1 June.
  • Paul Wright has been appointed finance director at Gentoo Group. He was previously director of finance and support services at Foundation of Light, Sunderland football club’s charity.
  • Chris Roberts has been appointed director of customer service at Beyond Housing, having previously been head of contact centres for Ocado Group.
  • Dawn Hendon has been appointed corporate director of governance and compliance at WHG. She was previously group head of governance and corporate affairs at Accord.
  • Liane Sheppard has been appointed director of property services at LiveWest, a newly created role. She was previously operations director – East and West at Sovereign.
  • Jason Holder has been appointed executive director of asset management and regeneration at WATMOS Community Homes, moving from associate director of service delivery at Bromford.
  • Catalyst Housing Group has appointed four new directors. Claire Bishop and David Foster join its Counties New Homes team as director of development delivery and director of land, partnerships and preconstruction respectively. Rachael Matthiae has joined as director of development delivery for London, and Sean Gallagher has joined as development commercial director.
  • Catalyst has also appointed two new board members: Christine Turner and Thelma Stober. Ms Stober is a solicitor and a commercial mediator with extensive experience in the public sector. Ms Turner is the chair of Rosebery Housing Association and has joined following Catalyst’s partnership with the Surrey-based organisation.
  • Berneslai Homes has appointed two new board members: Mahara Haque and Johanna Sugden. Ms Haque works as an external funding manager in the voluntary sector and has a background with Rotherham Council and Community Development at Sheffield City Council. Ms Sugden is director of corporate and compliance services at housing association Ongo.
  • Nicola Clarke has been promoted to head of sales at Platform Housing Group, having previously been regional sales manager.
  • Jenny Harris has been promoted to head of building safety at Sanctuary. Her previous role was group head of health and safety at the organisation.
  • Naomi Macey has been promoted to director of asset management and safety at Homes in Sedgemoor, having previously been compliance, safety and strategy manager at the organisation.
  • Doug Moyes has been promoted to director of customer service at Blackwood. He was previously regional manager for West of Scotland at the organisation.

  • Katie Fung (pictured above) has been appointed a partner in law firm Devonshires’ real estate and project team. She joins from law firm Winckworth Sherwood.
  • Lucian Smithers has been appointed chief customer officer at for-profit registered provider Sage Housing. He joins from micro-home developer Pocket Living.
  • Chris Loizou has joined developer Living Space Housing as land and partnerships director. He previously worked in the same role at Owl Homes.
  • Mary Beck has been named divisional operations director at regional house builder SevenHomes. She joins from Taylor Wimpey.
