One of the country’s largest growing construction companies, Colmore Tang Construction (CTC), has unveiled plans to open up a new business aimed at partnering with housing associations to deliver new homes.
The newly created Colmore Tang Living business will aim to work with housing associations and other social housing providers to source land in the East, West and south Midlands and deliver up to 100 homes on each site.
The Birmingham-based contractor has seen major growth since it was founded in November 2013, with turnover expected to hit £80m this year and more than 3,500 residential units in its delivery pipeline.
The contractor said it was already in advanced conversations with some housing associations about sourcing appropriate plots for development.
Once a plot has been chosen, Colmore Tang Living will support the schemes through planning as well as deliver the homes. It expects to be on its first site next quarter and is openly looking for housing associations and other providers to partner with.
Andy Robinson, chief executive at CTC, said: “In the past five years since we launched CTC, we’ve delivered more than 2,000 homes for private sale and rent so the move into social housing is the obvious next step for us.
“Social housing is an increasingly important area and the need to build hundreds of thousands of homes has never been more urgent.”
“Our expertise in identifying suitable sites and bringing them through the planning process, as well as delivering maximum value and providing the skills to deliver and construct quality homes, means we are in the ideal position to work alongside social housing providers.”
