Platform Housing Group, which owns around 47,000 homes, has appointed Rosemary Farrar as its chief finance officer and Gerraint Oakley as its executive director of growth and development.

Ms Farrar had been interim chief finance officer at Platform since mid-March. She was previously a consultant, working with landlords including Riverside, Sage, Paradigm, Women’s Pioneer and the Scottish Housing Regulator.

“I am looking forward to being part of an organisation with a strong social purpose and reputable commercial standing,” said Ms Farrar. “I will be working to ensure that we build on our financial position and continue to develop as a leading force across the sector.”

Mr Oakley joins Platform from Curo, where he was managing director of the group’s development arm.

He has previously worked at Coastal Housing in south Wales, and in the private sector for Barratt Developments and Keepmoat Homes.

He said: “I am very excited to be joining Platform at a pivotal time for the sector. We have some challenging growth ambitions to deliver, and I am keen to use our strength and potential to shape and expand our development horizons even further.”

Platform, which plans to build 1,138 homes in 2020/21, was created through the merger of Waterloo Housing Group and Fortis Living in October 2018.

None of the Fortis executive team now work for Platform.

Elizabeth Froude, chief executive of Platform, said: “We’re delighted to have Rosemary and Gerraint on board.

“Both bring with them a wealth of industry knowledge, commercial acumen and a dynamism that will be crucial as we work to consolidate existing relationships and develop new ones that will enable us to finance and deliver even more much-needed new homes across the country.”

Both Ms Farrar and Mr Oakley took up their positions at Platform this month.
