A large London-based housing association has launched an £448m repairs framework in line with its new five-year strategy to build and improve homes #UKhousing

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) is seeking suppliers for the new framework, which will see repairs and maintenance works completed on its 57,000 homes.

The scheme will cover cyclical works, fire safety, electrical safety, lift renewal, and mechanical and electrical services.

The large housing association was formed in 2019 following the merger of Metropolitan and Thames Valley. MTVH anticipates that the framework will run for five years from 2022, with the potential to extend for a further two years.

The announcement follows the launch of MTVH’s new five-year strategy, which sets out its aim to build more than 5,000 houses to rent and buy and invest £175m in the maintenance and improvement of residents’ homes.

The strategy also includes plans to improve contractor performance by establishing a long-term corporate sustainability plan. This is in line with MTVH’s aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

A spokesperson for the association said: “MTVH is setting up new frameworks to replace a range of existing arrangements and are built around new specifications which meet our changing needs.”

Mark Everard, executive director of property at MTVH, said: “Investment in maintaining our homes to help people live well is a key priority for us and we are looking for partners who share our vision to help us achieve this.”

Potential suppliers have until 31st August 2021 to express interest in the framework.
