Lewisham Homes has appointed Margaret Dodwell, interim operations director at Hampshire’s largest housing association, Vivid, as its new boss.

The company, which manages 18,000 council homes on behalf of the south London borough, will be carrying out a major investment programme to improve and build new homes in the borough.

Ms Dodwell will start her new role on 3 May, replacing Andrew Potter as chief executive after his 11 years in charge.

Ms Dodwell has worked as interim operations director at Vivid since the start of the year, following the organisation’s formation via the merger of housing associations Sentinel and First Wessex in April 2017.

Ainsley Forbes, chair of Lewisham Homes, said: “The board and I very much welcome Margaret’s appointment. She has an impressive background in providing excellent customer service and we look forward to working with her to ensure our tenants and leaseholders receive a quality service.

“We will also be working very closely with Lewisham Council to increase the supply of social housing in the borough and help address the growing housing need.”

Ms Dodwell, who is also vice-chair of Cottsway Housing Association and started her own consulting firm in 2015, said she was “delighted” to join Lewisham Homes.

She said: “I look forward to having the opportunity to work with the team and to lead the organisation in providing high-quality services for our customers and communities, and working with the council to increase the supply of affordable homes in the borough.”
