Vicky Savage will lead on the 95,000-home landlord’s operations in the capital in the newly formed role.

Ms Savage has been in charge of L&Q’s South region for the past 18 months, overseeing major developments and the Build London Partnership, in which the landlord partnered with BAME housing associations to unlock small sites for development.

As London managing director, she will lead L&Q’s development division in the capital, including its flagship Barking Riverside and Beam Park schemes.

She will also be responsible for the organisation’s £8bn strategic partnership with the Greater London Authority, which aims to deliver 20,000 homes with up to 60% affordable.

Ms Savage said: “I am thrilled to be taking on this role at such an exciting time for L&Q.

“We have a proud track record of creating thriving communities and delivering much-needed affordable housing across London.

“I look forward to working closely with our partners as we continue to work towards tackling the housing crisis.”

Ms Savage is chair of the development directors group at the G15 body of London housing associations.

She has a degree in urban planning and a postgraduate qualification in housing from the London School of Economics.

Fiona Fletcher-Smith, group director of development and sales at L&Q, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Vicky into this important new role.

“London has never been more important to L&Q, and Vicky’s expertise will be vital for us as we invest to deliver the homes that the capital needs.”

L&Q has plans to build 100,000 homes over the next decade. It completed nearly 1,000 more homes than any other housing association in 2018/19.
