Torus has appointed a chief operating officer as part of a new executive operating model.
Catherine Murray-Howard will join the 40,000-home landlord next month in the newly created role. She was previously at The Disabilities Trust, before going on to become chief operating officer at accessible housing provider Mersten.
Torus merged with Liverpool Mutual Homes in January but kept its name, creating one of the largest housing associations in the region.
Last month Torus bought Liverpool Football Club’s Melwood training ground with plans to build an as-yet unspecified number of homes.
Ms Murray-Howard, who will report to chief executive Steve Coffey, will be responsible for housing services, the group’s commercial building and maintenance contractor: HMS, and the Torus Foundation.
Mr Coffey said: “Earlier in the year, we launched our corporate plan and new operating model, with Cath as chief operating officer, we can consolidate our growth and success as we build on our vision of growing stronger communities.”
Ms Murray-Howard said: “Torus has incredible potential and I look forward to working alongside Steve, Peter [Fieldsend, chief financial and commercial officer] and the team to deliver new homes, new services and new opportunities not just in Liverpool, St Helens and Cheshire but across the North West.”
