Housing consultancy boss, Steve Douglas, has joined a London landlord as its new chair
Mr Douglas, who is co-chief executive of Altair and former chief executive of the Housing Corporation, will head up the board of One Housing.
He replaces Anthony Mayer, who is retiring after having served the maximum six year term.
The association manages around 16,000 homes in London and the South East, with plans to build 3,500 more by 2020.
It has also appointed a new executive team in the last year, including Richard Hill, who joined as chief executive from merging landlord Sovereign in late 2017.
Mr Douglas said: “I’m delighted to join One Housing as its new chair. It is a significant housing and care social business with a major stake in a number of communities.
“In a world that now has great opportunities for housing organisations to play an important role in services to tenants and residents – building new homes and supporting communities – it’s great to be part of One Housing on the next stage of its journey.”
As well as his roles at Altair and the Housing Corporation, he was also formerly chief executive of Asra Greater London Housing Association and Spitalfields Community Housing Association.
