Nick Apetroaie was originally chief executive of 16,000-home Viridian when it merged with Amicus Horizon last year. He initially became deputy chief executive of the merged landlord, but this role will now be abolished.

Mr Apetroaie said: “As the integration progresses and we are about to embark on the next phase, we have reviewed the executive team structure and concluded that the purpose of the deputy chief executive role in this organisation has been achieved.

“It now feels right that Optivo moves into its next phase with a smaller executive team structure to move the organisation forward.

“I have had the privilege to have spent the past nine years working with some amazing people who created the foundation for Optivo. I wish Optivo the very best for the future. I am looking forward to finding the right new challenge for me to take forward.”

Paul Hackett, chief executive of Optivo, added: “I would like to thank Nick for his contribution to the successful amalgamation of Viridian and Amicus Horizon to form Optivo in May this year and for working with me to put in place the strong foundations for Optivo’s future.

“The capacity created from this merger enables Optivo to invest £3.5bn over the next 10 years to build at least 15,000 new homes. We all wish Nick every success with his next move.”
