Hyde has revealed the 41 contractors that it has appointed to a £2bn new build housing framework.
The 50,000-home housing association plans to build around 11,000 new homes in London and the South East in the next five years, and has selected construction companies and developers to help it do so.
The scope of the works differs from contract to contract, but the framework primarily covers construction work for new homes. It is divided into eight lots, by region and value, plus one for so-called modern methods of construction, such as offsite building or prefabrication (see below).
The framework is also open to the public sector.
Hyde, which is one of the largest housing associations in the country, conducted an Official Journal of the European Union-compliant procurement process to appoint the contractors.
It is the second major framework that Hyde has picked contractors for in the past 12 months after it picked contractors such as Kier and Engie for its £2.4bn fire safety framework in April.
Stephen McMorris, director of development and sales at Hyde, said: “We went through a stringent process of appointing partners who have each demonstrated a commitment to providing quality services, delivering value for money and working collaboratively.
“We look forward to working more closely with our partners who will help us achieve our ambition of building as many homes as we can across London and the South East.”
The lots awarded are as follows.
Lot 1: Kent (£5m-£10m); Lot 2: Kent (more than £10m); Lot 3: South (£5m-£10m); Lot 4: South (more than £10m); Lot 5: London (£5m-£10m); Lot 6: London (more than £10m); Lot 7: all regions (more than £25m); Lot 8: modern methods of construction.
