Inside Housing’s art director has been named the business media’s designer of the year at the annual PPA Awards.
Sonny Dhamu, who is responsible for Inside Housing’s design, won the accolade at a ceremony in central London last night.
Judges described Mr Dhamu as a “one person design team” and praised his “powerful, wide-reaching work” on the title’s Never Again campaign.
His front page design, which launched the campaign, was nominated for front cover of the year alongside titles such as The Big Issue, Stylist and Vogue.
Emma Maier, editor of Inside Housing, said: “Sonny has been in charge of Inside Housing’s design for several years, and his distinct and powerful style set our magazine apart. He has long been one of the best magazine designers in the industry, and this award is welcome recognition of his hard work and skill.
Next up, we have Designer of the Year (Business Media), sponsored by @ATGMediaUK. Congratulations to @SonnyDhamu from @insidehousing for the powerful, wide-reaching work he did for the Grenfell campaign. A well-deserved win! #PPAawards pic.twitter.com/fxwtmXfWsg

“In particular, his work on our Grenfell coverage has been stark and hard-hitting and has helped set the tone for our editorial coverage.”
