Lincolnshire Housing Partnership appoints new chair #ukhousing

@Lincolnshirehp has appointed a new permanent chair #ukhousing

Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) announced via the stock market yesterday that Anthony Read will lead its board from 17 September.

He will replace Lynda Bowen, who was appointed on an interim basis in April after the previous incumbent, Stephen Savage, resigned.

Mr Read has worked in the banking and finance sector for 30 years and is a co-opted member of the audit committee at Peaks & Plains Housing Trust.

LHP was found to have breached the Regulator of Social Housing’s (RSH) Home Standard earlier this year over issues with its electrical safety testing and certification processes.

It retained its ‘G2 V2’ grading for governance and financial viability issued following a merger in April 2018, which means it complies with RSH standards but needs to improve some aspects of its governance arrangements and manage risks to its financial strength.

LHP was formed in April last year through the merger of Shoreline Housing Partnership and Boston Mayflower, creating a 12,700-home landlord.

Murray MacDonald, chief executive of LHP, said: “Anthony has strong skills in leading organisations, experience in housing and a professional background in banking, all of which make him an ideal next chair for us.

“He is very keen to get to know us as a company and is eager to meet colleagues and get out visiting tenants and residents.”

Mr Read said: “I have a genuine passion for customer service, with extensive experience in property finance, risk assurance and debt management.”

Update: at 14.25 07/08/19 This article previously stated that LHP was downgraded by the RSH in February. In fact, it retained its ‘G2 V2’ grading after breaching the Home Standard. This error has now been corrected.
