The Guardian reports on proposals by thinktank Bright Blue to pay compensation to benefit claimants who receive their Universal Credit late, saying there are currently no sanctions for errors by Job Centres.

“Ensuring there is equal treatment of all actors in the universal credit system is important for sustaining public and specifically claimants’ support for it,” the report by the Conservative think tank said.

Contractor Interserve faces a shareholder vote on plans to avoid going into administration, reports the BBC. Interserve has provided the repairs service for some housing associations over the past decade, including East Thames, which is now merged into L&Q, which has a direct repairs service.

The Guardian also reports on plans for a national campaign of private block leaseholders regarding flammable cladding. Leaseholders have faced struggles to get building owners and developers to carry out remediation work without being billed for it.
