The UK’s second largest developing housing association has confirmed its new permanent chief executive.
Orbit, which completed 1,788 homes in 2016/17, has announced that Mark Hoyland will stay on in the top role.
Mr Hoyland joined the 40,000-home landlord as interim chief executive in February after long-standing boss Paul Tennant resigned at the start of January.
Tessa Blackstone, group chair of Orbit, said: “Mark is an exceptional leader with a strong pedigree in housing. He has made a significant impact on the organisation since joining in an interim position in February.”
Mr Hoyland was previously managing director of Balfour Beatty and has held positions at property manager First Port (formerly Peverel) and City West Homes.
He said: “As an established multi-tenure house builder and a significant investor in community programmes, we are in a strong position to help ensure people and communities can realise their aspirations.
“Building further on Orbit’s success is an exciting challenge and one which will focus on our ultimate purpose of building communities, providing great services for our customers and increasing housing supply.”
